    Racetrack woes

    LATTE OF THE DAY: CHOCOLATE-ORANGE

Wow... I get hurt and can't get on for a couple of months and everything changes...The changes and I will have to just get used to each other as time goes on.....

But now to the getting hurt part.....

It was the start of the Montana 200... one of the biggest races of the season... I had been at work for 3 1/2 hours of my first of 2 12 hour shifts... One of the race officials spotted two guys up by turns three and four where no one was supposed to be ... she sent me over the fence to go see why they were there...

I got a step-stool to climb up the fence... sat  on the fence and jumped down... my left foot landed at an angle and between the angles it left my femur and tibia at and the suddenness of the impact, it broke the outer ball of the tibia off and fractured part of the tibia...

Needless to say I have been and remain in bed for the most part sinse July 20th... no weight at all for at least 5 more weeks for a total of a minimum of 3 months and then limited weight on it for up to 9 months... I am finally able to move around a bit and sit at my computer a bit...

There is a possibility that I will not get all of the full movement back to my leg... yes i can bend it now... but there is concern that I will not be able to extend it fully like i could before and like i can the other one... will keep you posted on that...

With God on my side, I will heal fully and be back to work before the start of the next race season....

OH yeah.... the two guys I was origionally sent to check on were the pyrotechnics setting up the firework disply for the start of the race....
