Lace or Ribbon? Lace June 26 weekend of no sleepLATTE OF THE DAY: PINK GRASSHOPPER WHITE CHOCOLATE, CREME DE MENTHE, AND RASPBERRY
I have had one busy weekend... I started out the week with just a one day job at the racetrack... then Tuesday the person the took over the coffeeshop called me needing me to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday (raceday) and Sunday...
Ok I thought... I only have to work the race track I can survive the one long long day....
OHhhhhhh silly me for thinking that... an hour later my security boss calls.... I have to be at the arena at 5 pm on both Thursday and Friday until midnight... and the racetrack at 330 on Saturday until possibly 2 or 3 a.m. ........ oh my...
I started out doing real good... the lack of normal sleep wasn't too bad the first couple of days... 3 to 4 hours of sleep is not good for Jill... never has been... Saturday, though, was a different story... I was doing good all day long... a bit tired but ok... I had a lot of fun at the races too.... I was even given a 6 pack of Bud light because someone was too lazy to walk back to their vehicle with it... the funny part about that is I don't drink beer and when I do drink alcohol it is usually a wine cooler once in a blue moon...
But, by about 9 p.m. or so, I started getting real shaky and sick to my stomache... I knew that the lack of sleep had caught up with me finally and I still had a lot of hours of work to go before I could get any real sleep.... After intermission, I asked the bosswoman of the track if she needed all four guards still and was told I could go home and get some sleep... the couple of extra hours of sleep that night was wonderful but still not quite enough but they helped tremendously... and Sunday I got to go home early from the coffeeshop because it was toooooo slow....
It was a wonderfully full weekend...
HUGS and PRAYERS,
Jill June 19 Silverwood and SpokaneLATTE OF THE DAY: VANILLA AND RUM
The trip to Silverwood and Spokane was a blast... We spent most of the day Monday at Silverwood theme park... there were 10 girls and 7 adults (chaperoning)... the girls split into three groups for the most part... I went with the group that Becca was in... actually they went with me... I am friends with most of them and she wanted to be with them too... there were three adults that went with that group... we went on the roller coasters a lot... they went on panic plunge... not me... it goes straight up and then drops in an instant... roller coasters were hard enough for me... a) i am scared of heights and b) I forgot to put extra gunk on my ummmmm teeth so every time we rode on them it felt like my teeth were going to fly out... so after the first couple of times I let the girls ride and I watched... that is until we got on the water ride... it is a huge tube that holds up to 8 people comfortably... it goes down this rapids type waterway... you can't help but get wet... and on top of it there is a spray gun that people can drop a quarter into and spray the occupants of the tube as it goes past... we rode that ride over and over and over again... we got soaked...
I should mention that it was cloudy and overcast and not all that warm...
and we got soaked... then we ate a wonderful bbq dinner... then we rode the water ride again and again and again and then they decided it was time for roller coasters before the park closed...
That night the girls were all split into rooms and they played in the pool until about midnight...
We left the hotel at noon to go to Northtown Mall in Spokane... We spent 4 hours in the mall by the time we got there... it was a bit of a drive... I think the first store the majority of these blooming young ladies went to was Victoria's Secret... hehehe it was actually funny to watch these growing young ladies in that store...
Then I went to a scrapbooking store and a couple other stores with one of the parents and a girl that didn't want to go back to VS after we ate... We met up with them again at the candy store... this candy store offers bulk candies... some of them are yesteryear candies you can hardly ever find anywhere else... it is one of the best stores...
Then....
We went to the largest arcade/game room that I am aware of in Northwestern US... the girls had a blast playing the games and doing the dance game thing... it was fun watching them...
All in all it was a wonderful time... Becca and I only had one fight and I walked off to cool off instead of getting into it with her in the mall... Miss JC took care of her attitude for me... we were cool after that... and we really did have a grand and wonderful time...
I have some pics of it but have to get them up first...
soooooooo.... more to come... June 10 Silverwood here we comeLATTE OF THE DAY: OLD FASHIONED CHERRY CHEESECAKE VANILLA, IRISH CREAM, CHERRY, AND ALMOND
I am about to embark on two days of fun, little sleep, and a bunch of girls...
The honor girls, the ones that finished all of their stuff in the stars class that I helped teach all year, and the honor friends (which are the 8th grade girls) are going to Silverwood Theme park Monday and Tuesday... I think we are going to the park on Monday and a mall in either Spokane or Spokane Valley on Tuesday... It is a four hour drive to get there... we are staying the night at a hotel with an all night swimming pool... a couple of months ago, the teacher of the stars class promised the girls they could swim all night, that she would stay down there in the pool area so they could... I get to stay with the girls that don't want to swim all night
Boo is going with us too as she is part of the friends class... It is going to be fine... we will have fun together, or should I say I will have fun with the 5th graders and she will have fun with her friends... she will have to ride in the van I am driving either on the way to the park or on the way home on Tuesday... that is the teacher's orders
I will write about the trip after we get back... including the rides at the park... I have been told I am riding on tremors which is a partially underground roller coaster I believe... hmmmm should I mention the fact that I am afraid of heights??? hmmmm
It will be a blast...
God bless and keep you all

Jill June 07 8th grade promotion and someLATTE OF THE DAY: OLD FASHIONED FRENCH VANILLA VANILLA AND HAZELNUT
Yesterday Becca had a promotion ceremony from 8th grade into nineth grade... It is a big deal for a lot of the kids because they have all gone to school together since kindergarden... I will post some pictures when I get them downloaded on the computer... She looked so beautiful... they all did... they have grown up so much...This means that my youngest child is now in high school... this frightens me some...
Summer is hot here... well not the last couple of days... it has been raining... I will have pictures of my yard to post as well... they are all on the same camera... I want to get back in my yard to do more work but I don't really like working in it while it is raining...
I will post more later and explain what has been going on here lately... And will post some things that I have learned from a friend...
OH and I am done with the tiger afghan I was working on for a child that went through the 8th grade promotion that I will also post later on... right now I have to get dressed and take a child to school... a neighbor child that still has today to go and I have been giving a ride to all year
Have a blessed day everyone... June 03 NOTICE TO THAT ONE PERSON (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)LATTE OF THE DAY: MARZIPAN ORANGE ORANGE AND AMARRETTO
I know that you were on here this morning... I can see when you are on... you should leave me a comment or send me a message when you are on here... I don't really understand what the big deal is... I mean I don't understand why what you do on the pages you go to are to remain privately yours but nothing I do is to be... I know you are trying but there are still things I don't understand the why's to... but you will not hear me or read me say anything about them again... I realize that I can not beat you two... I realize that you two don't want anything to change other than for me to not get upset about having to do all the dirty necessary work around the house... I realize that you two are FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN I AM... This is your notice :
I AM DONE TALKING UNLESS SPOKEN TO...
I AM DONE GIVING PERMISSION FOR HER TO DO THINGS WHEN NO WORK IS DONE PRIOR TO IT...
I CAN'T TAKE THE COMMENTS ON HOW MUCH SHE HATES ME AND GOES RUNNING TO YOU WHEN I TRY TO DISCIPLINE HER...
SO ONCE AGAIN
I AM DONE TALKING UNLESS NECESSARY
I LOVE YOU...
GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU June 01 Weekend at War (work)LATTE OF THE DAY: SWEET SURRENDER WHITE CHOCOLATE, VANILLA, AND HUCKLEBERRY
I survived my weekend of work... It was quite interesting... or should I say uninteresting on my end... As I said in my last blog, I didn't get to work the racetrack this weekend... instead I got stuck in Bigfork... I told you about Bigfork this time last year... you remember: the one where all we could do is stand by while guys whipped it out to pee because the deputies weren't too concerned??? This year instead of just having one person doing the whole site, we had two and I got stuck at the quiet do nothing spot down by the river... all the action was on top... and to make the slap a little bit harder, the person that yelled at me the week before got to go to the top part of the Bigfork job AFTER he got done with the racetrack job...
That's ok I thought to myself... it's no biggie really... my boss knows what he is doing...
Then came the parking at the Arena on Sunday... And he blew up because HE wasn't in charge in the parking lot... he even went so far as to tell me if I didn't like how the row of cars were curving I could do it myself... so I did...
The rest of that shift and my Monday shift went smoothly other than it rained... and rained... and rained...
Then came Tuesday evening... I went to my friend's house... The person that yelled at me lives with her and her husband... While I was there, our boss called... they work for the same company I do... when she told the yeller that he was doing parking with us for graduation on Saturday he called the boss... and I quote: "I told you I was not parking under Jill."
That was the last slap... I called my boss the next morning because I was so hurt and so angry that I had to collect myself first... he said he didn't know what I was talking about until I told him I was sitting right there when it was said... my boss told me it isn't so much me or the parking... it is about the fact that the person in question doesn't like being "under" anyone... he has to be in charge all the time...
So my question became, then, why put him in the parking lot at all... it will only make the day worse... and I can't leave the lot because the person that owns the arena WANTS me as the supervisor because I can put cars in there like no one else seems to be able to... and we are going to have about 3,000 people there and that is a lot of cars to worry about...And then I get to work the racetrack...
So I am left to ask myself what am I to do? How do I deal with the situation that has been developing the last couple of weeks? |
