    Hot flashes and cold weather

My leg hurts..... just thought I would whine a bit...

It is November2nd and I can not believe there is no snow on the mountains... there was some but it all melted with the unseasonably warm weather we have had lately... noooo what hurt the leg weather wise is the cold  mornings we have been having... it was 18 degrees this morning... I look at my yard with the leaves still on the ground and want to cry... I should be out raking them but it hurts to stand for more than a couple of minutes yet... and walking is limited at best... so realistically I know I can not do th em th is year... which also realistically means I will be right back to square one next spring in doing my yard... but that is ok....

I had someone ask me how a 38 year old could possibly know what menopause symptoms are like... that it is awful young...  so let me share a story......

When I was pregnant with my second child I got really really sick... to the point that I lost 33 pounds while I was pregnant... we could not, at the time, figure out why I was so sick and what was causing all the troubles...  we didn't think about it much after he was born because everything seemed ok... the pap smears we did came back a bit unusual so they did a biopsy of sorts and it came back ok so nothing was ever thought of it again...  then when he was about two years old, I started getting some severe cramping pains that I had never had before...  It turned out that I had a cyst that had gotten infected and had ruptured... so I had a round of strong antibiotics and some pain pills and that was that... nothing else was done...

Then I got pregnant with Beccaboo... and started having pains and getting sick again... this time we had a heads up on it because we knew of the history of cysts and of being sick... so I was limited to what I could do ... and was even put on bedrest the last 4 months I wa pregnant so that I would not go into premature labor....  when we went in my for my 6 week checkup there was some severe problems... so came the ultrasounds and mamogramms and more ultrasounds and more severe biopsies and some other opsies and a  lot of pain... I think I would rather have more back labor than the pain to find out what was wrong with me...

The ultra sounds showed a lot of cysts... the doctor and Mrfit and I were a bit worried.... actually a lot worried because they were the source of my pain... because I was only 24 at the time the doctor was concerned about doing any sort of hysterectomy... but the ultra sound showed too many to not do anything about... so we had to meet with the doctor to convince him that we did not need any other children and then they did an emergency hysterecomy on me... thus sending me into a medically induced menopause...

I had it done on a Monday before my 25th birthday... that was the 23rd... my birthday was on a Wednesday....  they gave me morphine on Monday night... I am alergic to morphine... I went into convulsions...  tore ouot all my stitches... They went back in on Tuesday... needless to say, I did not get out on my birthday to celebrate it at home like planned so the nurses brought me some cake to have it there hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

and then the menopause came on strong....

And what a ride that was... hot flashes... cold flashes... mental flashes... hot flashes... cold flashes... flashes of leave me the heck alone or else... tempers flairing... blah blah blah....  The hormones they were giving me were only making things worse... when we took them out of the equation things smoothed out and got a lot better... there are days that I think I need some hormones... or perhaps it is that I have too much in me on those days but I get by and those that are around me and love me... well they get by too and know to just leave me alone... or most times they know that....

So there you have it...  another little fact about me that isn't a whole lot out of the ordinary... I mean I am not the only one to have a hystorecomy done at a young age... I am not even the only one that has gone through menopause at a young age... but that is a part of my life that makes me .. well ME...  I have been there done that... and can help others with what I had learned... which is a good thing because one of my young friends is going through the same things right now and she is torn between her health and her religion... and I can give her insights that her mom can't do because of a cloudiness with the religion aspect to it...  I won't explain it all now.... but rest assured that I have prayed a lot about it all alone about her and with her....

For now... May God be with you all on your journey of life...
